Dark Days Eat Local Challenge: Weeks 17 & 18

I'm not feeling particularly verbose (surprise, I know), so here are some images and brief descriptions of our mostly local meals for weeks 17 and 18. Still struggling with grains and cheese.

Braised goose in a red wine gravy, mashed potatoes, and southern-style turnip greens with salted pork, topped with home-made bleu cheese dressing and accompanied by ciabatta bread:

Curried goat stew over sticky rice, accompanied with naan, an Indian fried bread:

Roasted chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy and biscuits, accompanied by a salad of mixed baby greens with bleu cheese dressing:

Frittata with mixed baby greens, salted bacon, and swiss cheese before baking:

...and after baking:

Roasted pork tenderloin, gravy and couscous, along with a side of Southern-style turnip greens with salted pork and ciabatta bread:

the Frittata looks really good and from the ingredients sounds like it would taste pretty good as well

Thank you. We do eat well—it's one of the things I love most about living on a farm.

Okay ... so YUM! Can I come over for dinner?

It all looks delicious - this is very much the kind of cooking I love to do and to eat!

I made nan for the first time and then made it again three times in the same week. It was crazy good but not as beautifully golden brown as yours. How did you do that?

This is what my husband had to say about the naan when I asked him:

"You know I don't have a secret. Not even sure I remember what I did now. It was made on the pizza stone, flipped half way through the cooking process and brushed with olive oil. Ask them for their recipe as well since mine was a hodgepodge."
